Successful Completion of Programme

According to our standards a student successfully completes the Network Foundation Programme if he/she obtains a Total Average of 40%. However, the University departments may set their own conditions for offering a place in their courses (recommended range of grades is 40-70%).

The Total Grades represent as accurately as possible the academic standards achieved by each student. The maximum possible number of absences for a whole year is a total of 10% of the teaching hours in each subject. Tutor Meetings are being held several times per academic year in order to follow up the students´ progress. In all components of Continuous Assessment, a key contributing factor is the input/opinion of the Academic Board, consisting of the School Director, the Academic Director and the Admissions Director, who closely monitor and evaluate each student’s academic readiness, educational profile and general competence for the requirements of the British Universities. The Academic Board also functions as an External Examining Body, which monitors and audits the content and procedures of all delivered modules and examinations.

In order to provide the admission tutors with an additional criterion for comparison, we present the following table which shows the equivalencies of our grading system to that of GCE and the Greek Ministry of Education for the Pan-Hellenic Examinations. Please note that these equivalencies* of grades do not represent an official comparison, but are estimated according to our own experience and statistics of our observations..

Grading Policy

The assessment of students is based on:

  • their performance during the whole programme
  • their participation in class
  • their overall student profile and academic readiness
  • their competence during seminar sessions
  • the quality of their Lab Reports
  • the standard of their Projects and/or Essays
  • the written Examinations after the first and second Terms, namely the Mid-Term and Final Examinations

Grading Policy

Grading is given in percentages. To simplify the assessment of our students by UCAS and the Universities, separate grades are awarded for each of the subjects studied. The Total Grade for each subject is calculated based on the following (Continuous Assessment and Written Examinations):

  • Class Participation – Regular Quizzes
  • Research Sessions and Reports
  • Projects and Essays
  • Mid-Term Examinations
